What you get: up to 50% discount on selected hotels and special prices for flight + hotel packages.

Some examples for 4 nights over the period 28 March - 1 April 2013:

- The LVH Las Vegas Hotel and Casino (formerly Las Vegas Hilton): total price of 231$ (58$ per night). The same room costs 324$ (81$ per night) on booking.com;

- Excalibur Hotel and Casino: total price of 279$ (70$ per night), while booking.com sells the same room at 338$ (85$ per night).

50% discount at the Radisson Blu Hotel Milano, Italy for the Valentine's Day

For 2 nights over the Valentine's Day week-end of 15-17 February 2013, the Radisson Blu Hotel Milan**** shows a total price of 139 £ for a business room, breakfast included. The same room costs 278£ from booking.com.

This offer is valid from lastminute.com, only if booked today, part of their 24-hour sale. They advertise 50% off selected hotels (mainly in Europe) for stays until 17 February 2013.

We did not find a similar good deal at some other properties we checked, but the one at the Radisson in Milan is a steal.

40% hotel discount in rural Tuscany, Italy

This deal is offered by Living Social, one of Groupon's competitors.

The best thing about Living Social is that they have a 30 days money back policy - meaning that if you changed your plans or did not find the desired availability of your deal, you may return the voucher.

The deal is valid for stays until 31 August 2013, in superior double rooms, breakfast included, a bottle of wine per stay and a free wine tasting at a farmhouse in the medieval village of Borgo Santinovo.

It is for stays at the Hotel Semifonte**** (free Wi-Fi, free parking, outside pool). Prices are as follows:

- a total of 119€ for a 2-night stay (60€ per night);

- or 159€ for a 3-night stay (53€ per night);

- lastly, 189€ for a 4-night stay (47€ per night).

The best deal we found for a 1 week (18-25 May 2013) all-inclusive vacation was at the Occidental Grand Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, which has a total price of 903$ (672 €). The same holiday costs 1 176$ on Expedia (that's 30% more expensive).

20€ daily credit from AccorHotels

After their private sale promotion, AccorHotels steps up with this new offer: up to 40£ (or 40€ depending on the location of the hotel).

We wrote 20€ in the title because this is the daily credit offered at the Mercure and Novotel properties, where most of us usually stay. The 40€ daily allowance is valid only at the more expensive Sofitel, Pullman and MGallery hotels. For all these 5 chains of hotels, the credit may only be used to pay off hotels extras, such as bar, restaurant, room service, room upgrade, movies, Wi-Fi expenses.


For the Ibis and Ibis Styles the daily discount is 15€ and may also be used against paying for the room rate (translating thus in an effective 15€ on accommodation).

For the Ibis Budget and Hotel F1, the daily credit is only 5€ and is automatically deducted from the room rates (in France the allowance is 10€ for the Ibis Budge hotels).

Holiday Autos voucher code for 20% discount in Spain, Portugal, France and South Africa

Holiday Autos (part of lastminute.com / Travelocity group) runs another promotion from 28 to 31 January 2013 (valid for pick-up of the rental car until 30 April 2013).

They offer a different coupon code each day, which is valid in a specific country (e.g. on Monday a promo code for Portugal, on Tuesday a promo code for Spain, etc.).

See below for the details:

- Monday, 28 January 2013: up to 20% off all Portugal locations;
- Tuesday, 29 January 2013: up to 20% off all Spain locations (including the Canary and Balearic islands);
- Wedensday, 30 January 2013: up to 20% off all French locations (including Martinique, Guadeloupe and Reunion islands);
 - Thursday, 31 January 2013: up to 20% off all South Africa locations.

There is no minimum rental period, so the 20% discount should be valid even for a 1 day rental.

There is another catch to the deal (and that's why they call it Beat the Clock): the discount varies during the day, from 20% saving to 10% saving. The early you book during the day, the higher the discount. Thus, the 20% is valid from 10 AM until 2 PM, 15% from 2 PM to 6 PM and only 10% from 6 PM to 10 PM (not very clear, but it is probably the GMT time).

The Auszeit Hotel*** in Dusseldorf has a price of 29€ per night, which is a great deal in itself, but even more so when you know that it has a 8.7 guest rating on booking.com.
