Up to 12% discount code for USA hotels

Hotels.com offers progressive discounts for stays in the United States until 30 June 2016, when booked until 23 August 2015.

The only interesting one is the 12% for a minimum 5-night stay (the others for 5% and 8% discount for 2 and respectively 3 nights are too low).

Click on the link below to go to the deal page and see the coupon codes:

12% discount for 5 night stays with Hotels.com

As usual, the promo codes are not valid for large international chains and you do not accumulate Reward Nights when using a discount code.

To conclude, this deal has only limited appeal, as the maximum discount is only 12% and all the chain hotels are excluded. It could be useful, however, for a boutique hotel that you cannot find cheaper elsewhere.

The promotion is valid for Club Carlson members who register for the promotion.

2 000 bonus points per night until 27 September 2015

As always, before booking direct from Radisson Blu website, compare the prices on their website with the other online travel agencies.

If the price difference is too high, then it's not worth booking directly on the official website, because the value of the points will not compensate for the price difference. This is what we did this summer, when we stayed 3 nights at the Radisson Blu in Lisbon, Portugal, but booked from TravelPony, where prices were 40% lower.

What hotel reservation websites did we use recently?

Following the American saying "put your money where your mouth is", we list below the online travel agencies we used to book hotels for the trips taken during the past 6 months:

RatesToGo -  Campanile Chalon sur Saone

RatesToGo -  Kyriad Nevers Centre

RatesToGo -  Kyriad Auxerre Appoigny

TravelPony - Park Inn by Radisson Nice Airport

AccorHotels - Ibis Sisteron

Hotelopia - Best Western Paradou

OnHotels - Best Western CTC Verona

HotelsClick - AC Hotel by Marriott Brescia

TravelPony - Steigenberger Hotel Linz

Apart from the above, we also burned some thousands of old points at several Hilton and IHG properties.

As you can see, we do not have an absolute preference for any particular website, but regularly check all of them to ensure we get the best deal for each property.

Surprises may appear because of specific promotions or discount codes.
