Get extra KrisFlyer miles for hotel bookings with Trip.com until 31 January 2018

KrisFlyer, the loyalty programme of Singapore Airlines and Trip.com are promoting their partnership at the beginning of this year.
For hotel bookings made until 31 January 2018, you will get 4 KrisFlyer miles for each dollar spent on hotel bookings (otherwise the regular earnings throughout the year are 1 mile for each dollar spent):

To benefit from this promotion you need have an account with Trip.com and a KrisFlyer member numer (it is free and easy to create both accounts on each of the partners' webpages).
Start the normal search on Trip.com and once you've selected the hotel and the room, in the reservation page just below the traveller contact details, look for the field "Discounts" and type there the code SIA and push the button "Apply". You will then also be asked to input your KrisFlyer member number and then you can finalise your reservation as normal (see print-screen below):
This is a good promotion if you are planning to book an independent hotel, which is not part of an international hotel chain, otherwise it is advisable to look carefully also at the chain's official reservations website to benefit from their points and miles earnings.
Miles will be credited to your KrisFlyer account approximately 8 weeks after hotel check-out.
