Expedia 72 hour sale in Istanbul

The 72 hours sale from Expedia takes us to exotic Istanbul this week (reservations to be made until Thursday, 13 December and stays until 13 March 2013).

To take advantage of the sale, follow the link to the dedicated Expedia page. They advertise also offers for Dubai and Morrocoo, however we checked some of the hotels displayed and they do not seem to have better prices than booking.com or other online travel agencies.

An additional 10% discount is applied to the hotels where it is written "Hotel promotion": in the payment window, just above the credit card information, type in the hotel voucher code UK50SAVE10 in the field "Enter a coupon or promotion code".

We took some examples of good hotel deals in Istanbul:

- two nights over the week-end 21-23 December at the Lalinn Hotel, breakfast included, have a total price of 65 GBP (82 euro), while on booking the same room costs 128 euro (50% more);

- a double room, breakfast included, over the same period at the Hotel Ipek Palas has a total price of 86 euro, while on booking the price is 106 euro (about 20% more);

- Hotel Sarnic Istanbul costs 140 euro (breakfast included) for the same period. The same room is priced at 165 euro by booking (15% more).

We took some examples:

- in Paris, two nights over the week-end 21-23 December at the Best Western Anjou Lafayette*** have a total price of 123 GBP (152 euro), while on booking the same room costs 232 euro (50% more);

- the Radisson Blu Hotel at Disneyland Paris**** for 3 nights over the Christmas period, for a family room (2 adults and 2 children) has a total price of 575 euro (breakfast included), while on booking the price is 656 euro (about 15% more). Even better, Expedia also offers a free dinner for the happy family;

- Starhotels Ritz**** in Milan, Italy costs 175 euro (breakfast included) for 2 nights over the week-end 21-23 December. The same room is priced at 202 euro by booking (15% more);

- Lancaster London**** costs 163 euro for 2 nights over the same week-end, while booking sells the same room at a total of 297 euro (80% more);

-The New Yorker Hotel**** costs 384 euro for the same period, while booking shows it at 426 euro (10% more).
