Discounted hotel stays in Vancouver, Canada this winter

Following last year's promotion, the Vancouver Hotel Destination Association (VHDA) (a group of 35 downtown Vancouver hotels) came up with a similar offer, giving you hundreds of Canadian dollars in Amercian Express gift cards, depending on the length of your stay.

How does the deal work:

1. make a reservation through their official website:

amex.bevancouver.com

2. next to each hotel you will see the value of AMEX gift cards you will get for each reservation. Depending on the category of the hotel, the first night stay is rewarded with a card with a value between 50 CAD and 125 CAD, while every subsequent night is rewarded with a 50 CAD voucher regardless of the hotel

3. when making the reservation online, you will pay the hotel charge in full and at check-in in Vancouver you will get at the reception AMEX gift cards for the value that was calculated when you made the booking

4. the gift cards can be used as you wish during your stay in Vancouver

These reservations are non-refundable, so book only if your travel plans are firm.

Cheap one-night stays in Vancouver, Canada until 28 February 2015

Special offer from the Vancouver Hotel Destination Association and American Express, available for booking until 16 November 2014.

Vancouver Hotel Destination Association is a group of 36 central Vancouver hotels, whose purpose is to enhance Vancouver’s destination awareness.

How does this deal work: for stays until 28 February 2015, you receive at check-in American Express Gift cards with a value between $75 and $125. Amounts expressed in Canadian Dollars.

Cards are offered per stay basis, so the biggest deal is when you stay only one night, because the card will offset most of the hotel cost. You will pay online the cost of the room in full and at check-in you will receive the gift card.

These gifts cards can be spent anywhere you like (you are NOT restricted to hotel services).

For example, a double room for a one night (20 December) at the Sandman Hotel Vancouver City Centre costs $115. Considering that you will receive a $75 AMEX card at check-in, that means that you net cost is of only $40 per night (see print-screen below):
