You can use these points immediately, following these 3 simple steps:

Step 1 - go to Melia website and enter into your newly created loyalty account:

Step 2 - search for your preferred location and travel date. Once you decided on the hotel, choose the cash + points rate and push the button "book now" (see the print-screen below):

Step 3 - at the top of the next window, move the points bar from left to right, from 2 000 plus cash, to 12 000 points plus cash (see print-screen below).

As you can see in the print-screen above, a night in July in Granada, on bed and breakfast board, has a final price of only 7€ (almost free :).

Usually, each 2 000 points reduce the rate by 10€. This is why we advertised the 60€ credit.

We have already booked a week-end night in March at the NH Bologna Villanova****, for which at check-out we will pay 35€, breakfast included (that is 75€ the room rate minus the 40€ credit). The same room would cost the full 75€ when using booking.com, for example.

20€ credit from NH Hotels worldwide in February 2013

NH Hotels is a group of above mid to upscale hotels located mostly in Europe, but also present in other parts of the world such as South America (Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia), USA,  Mexico, South Africa.

For each booking they currently offer a 20€ credit that can be used against all NH bills (including settling the room rate).

The credit is valid only for stays in February 2013 on any day from Monday to Thursday (so it excludes week-end stays).

The 20€ will be credit in the NH membership account, so you need to open a free member account first (similar to the HHonors, Club Carlson, Priority Club, etc.).

We test-tried the deal: for the night of Saint Valentine, 14 February 2013, a stay in a double room, breakfast included, at the NH Anglo American in Florence, Italy costs 80€. Considering the additional 20€ credit, the final bill will be of 60€.

On booking.com the room rate is also 80€, but you will not benefit from the additional 20€ credit.

20€ daily credit from AccorHotels

After their private sale promotion, AccorHotels steps up with this new offer: up to 40£ (or 40€ depending on the location of the hotel).

We wrote 20€ in the title because this is the daily credit offered at the Mercure and Novotel properties, where most of us usually stay. The 40€ daily allowance is valid only at the more expensive Sofitel, Pullman and MGallery hotels. For all these 5 chains of hotels, the credit may only be used to pay off hotels extras, such as bar, restaurant, room service, room upgrade, movies, Wi-Fi expenses.


For the Ibis and Ibis Styles the daily discount is 15€ and may also be used against paying for the room rate (translating thus in an effective 15€ on accommodation).

For the Ibis Budget and Hotel F1, the daily credit is only 5€ and is automatically deducted from the room rates (in France the allowance is 10€ for the Ibis Budge hotels).
